Uniform Policy

Our Uniform

    Autumn and Spring:

  • Sweatshirts, jumpers, cardigans – navy
  • Polo shirts - pale blue (Key Stage 1 - infants
  • Collared shirts – pale blue (Key Stage 2 – juniors)
  • Skirts, pinafore dresses – navy (no splits, 7cm above or below the knee)
  • School tie (Key Stage 2 – juniors)
  • Trousers (conventional, tailored style) – grey
  • Socks – grey, navy or white
  • Shoes – (max 2cm heel) black (no trainers)
  • Alice bands, hair slides/ties black or navy

        Summer:

  • Shorts – grey
  • Polo shirts – pale blue (Key Stage 1 – infants)
  • Collared shirts – pale blue (Key Stage 2 – juniors)
  • Summer dress – pale blue gingham
  • Sweatshirts – jumpers, Cardigans – navy
  • School tie (Key Stage 2 – juniors)
  • Sun hats
  • Sandals (no open toes) – black

         PE kit:

  • All children should be provided with suitable clothes into which they can wear for P.E.
  • Plimsolls - black (can be elasticated)
  • T-Shirt - navy
  • Shorts – navy
  • Socks – grey, navy or white
  • Trainers – plain white or black preferred
  • Tracksuit bottoms (navy) may be worn in colder months with the school sweatshirt

         Swimming:

  • A one-piece costume, swimming shirts or trunks which are not below the knee, towel and named bag.
  • Swimming hats may be required if requested by the swimming provider.

         Jewellery, make-up and nail varnish:

  • Only watches and stud (plain gold or silver coloured) earrings may be worn at school. On the grounds of safety, these must be removed for P.E., this includes games and swimming. Rings, necklaces and bracelets are not to be worn. This policy applies equally to boys and girls.
  • Nail varnish, transfer tattoos and make-up are not permitted in school.

         Hair:

  • Conventional hairstyles and natural hair colours only are acceptable.
  • Parents are requested for safety and hygiene reasons that long hair is secured back for school, and particularly for P.E. and swimming.

They have a shop which is open from 9am until 5pm every day of the week, including school holidays. This means you can go to the shop with your child to try on uniform if you are unsure of sizes and order directly from the shop. You can have your order delivered to your home for a small extra cost or in to school on a Friday.

Recycled uniform is available on request from the office. Any unwanted uniform may also be passed in to school.

Additional junior ties are available to purchase from the school office at a cost of £4.50.

Recycled uniform

Friends of Moore Primary School collect and resell recycled uniform.  Sales are advertised through school media.

Advice and guidance

Moore Primary School is unable to assist parents with the cost of school uniform or physical education kit but can provide other support, including advice and guidance. Please contact Mrs Smith or the office if you need assistance.
